There are some wins that make you pause, smile, and look back at how far you've come. For us at EHA Clinics, this is one of those moments.
This month, our Kano clinic was reaccredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) for ambulatory care, making us the only healthcare facility in Sub-Saharan Africa to currently hold this distinction.
And as if that wasn’t enough reason to celebrate, it comes right as we mark seven years of delivering quality, patient-centered care across Nigeria.
Why This Reaccreditation Matters
If you're wondering what JCI accreditation is and why we're so excited about it, here's the short version: it’s the healthcare equivalent of earning an Olympic gold medal.
JCI is the global standard-setter when it comes to patient safety and clinical quality. Clinics and hospitals all over the world spend years building systems and improving care just to meet their criteria. Accreditation isn’t just handed out, it’s earned through rigorous audits, site visits, and constant quality checks.
“Reaccreditation is not automatic, it’s earned through rigorous audits, discipline, and an unrelenting commitment to safety and quality,” explains Dr. Ifunanya Ilodibe, our CEO and Chief Medical Officer.

Seven Years of Building Something Different
Back in 2018, we opened our very first clinic on Independence Road in Kano. Our mission was bold: to redefine what outpatient care could look like in Nigeria.
Seven years later, we’ve grown to nine branches with over 300 team members, and the mission hasn’t changed.
In that time, we’ve:
- Built and scaled our EHACare platform, a digital backbone that makes healthcare smarter and more accessible
- Launched REACH, a program that delivers care directly to underserved communities
- Established EHA Pharma, a pharmaceutical distribution company focused on quality and availability
- Continued expanding our services to cover everything from primary and preventive care to diagnostics and dental
The common thread? A fierce commitment to healthcare that’s safe, transparent, tech-powered, and deeply human.
What It Took to Get Here
A reaccreditation like this doesn’t happen overnight. It takes years of refining systems, documenting processes, training staff, and most importantly, building a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility.
Dr. Mujidat Babah, who leads our Clinical Services team, put it perfectly:
“This milestone is a testament to our team’s unwavering dedication and collaborative spirit. The positive feedback, especially around our quality audit processes, validates the immense effort we’ve invested.”
And it’s not just about a certificate.
“Being JCI reaccredited is not just about a certificate,” adds our Group CEO, Adam Thompson. “It’s about staying focused on our long-term commitment to safer, better healthcare.”

So, What’s Next?
Seven years might sound like a long time, but in many ways, we feel like we’re just getting started.
Our vision remains the same: Zero Harm. Zero Wait. Zero Waste.
That means continuously improving. Growing. Innovating. And staying true to the promise we made from the start; to provide world-class healthcare, right here in Nigeria.
We’re incredibly grateful to every team member, patient, partner, and supporter who has been part of this journey. You’re the reason we can celebrate milestones like this one.
Here’s to even greater impact in the years ahead.
