At EHA Clinics, leadership is not defined by hierarchy—it’s defined by impact. It’s measured by how we serve, how we build, and how we stay true to the communities at the heart of our mission.

In May 2025, we marked a defining moment in our journey. The appointment of Dr. Ifunanya Ilodibe as Chief Executive Officer represented a significant milestone. Not just for our organization, but for health systems leadership in Nigeria. As the first female and first non-founding CEO of EHA Clinics, her leadership is meaningful not only in representation, but in direction.

Dr. Ilodibe brings to this role over 14 years of frontline and executive healthcare experience. She has led clinical teams through emergencies, overseen complex operations, and helped shape our standards of excellence. Today, she leads EHA Clinics with clarity and conviction, guided by a vision anchored in three bold commitments: Zero Harm. Zero Wait. Zero Waste.

This is more than a slogan. It is the operational framework driving our new chapter—from decision-making at the executive level to the delivery of care across clinics, homes, and underserved communities.

Leadership Rooted in Experience

Dr. Ilodibe’s leadership is deeply informed by practice. As a physician and healthcare operator, she understands firsthand the challenges and possibilities within our system. She listens intently, acts decisively, and holds herself and others accountable to the people we serve.

“She sees us, truly sees us.” – Chika, Senior Nurse, Abuja

In our Abuja clinics, daily huddles have evolved into forums for identifying risks, improving care pathways, and acting on frontline feedback. According to Chika,

“There’s trust—not because of her title, but because she’s walked these halls, asked the right questions, and stood with us during the toughest days.”

Redesigning Access Through Purpose

In Kano, our community health teams are living out what “Zero Wait” really means. For Abdulkareem, one of our Community Health Advocates, it’s about shifting systems to respect patients’ time and proximity to care.

“In rural areas, waiting means something different. It’s the difference between getting care or going without.” – Abdulkareem, Kano

This perspective is now shaping how we design services: from mobile health visits and digital booking, to shorter response times and greater continuity of care—all rooted in equity and access.

Listening. Learning. Leading.

Dr. Ilodibe leads with humility, and most importantly, with presence. She engages directly with patients and families, particularly during outreach programs in maternal and child health.

“She listens like a clinician, leads like a systems thinker.” – Amaka, Maternal Health Advocate

Amaka met her during a maternal health session and was struck by her commitment to listening—not to respond, but to redesign services with community feedback in mind.

System Strengthening as Strategy

“It’s not just about delivering care. It’s about building a system that works—today, and tomorrow.” – Paul Hogan, COO

As COO, Paul has seen how Dr. Ilodibe balances compassion with structure. Under her leadership, we’re expanding our care hub model, strengthening digital infrastructure, and embedding a culture of continuous quality improvement across our operations.

Her prior leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic—managing our isolation center and maintaining operational continuity—underscored her ability to lead through crisis without compromising standards. That same dedication led our Kano clinic to earn Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, a global benchmark in healthcare quality.

Purpose in Practice

To lead with purpose is to be consistent—in values, in service, and in how we treat each other.

Dr. Ilodibe leads by example: learning names, showing up for difficult conversations, celebrating frontline wins, and grounding decisions in compassion and data.

From a young clinician passionate about dignified care, to CEO of a growing network of high-quality primary health centers, her journey is shaping ours.

“We are building a healthcare system where quality is not a privilege, but a promise.
One that is safer, faster, more equitable—and ultimately, more human.”
– Dr. Ifunanya Ilodibe, CEO, EHA Clinics
