Kano, Nigeria — November 2025 — At the 98th Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Annual Conference, EHA Pharma stood out as a catalyst for change, showcasing how innovation, data, and collaboration are driving safer, smarter, and more transparent access to medicines across Nigeria.

From dynamic panel discussions to the unveiling of Rx Books, an AI-powered medicine information platform, and a guided tour of its PCN-registered warehouse in Kano, EHA Pharma’s participation embodied this year’s central theme: that technology, when paired with trust, can redefine the future of pharmacy practice in Nigeria.

At the Heart of the Conversation: Technology, Safety, and Access

Moderated by Abdulkareem Iyamu, the EHA Pharma–led panel, “Innovative Healthcare Access: Harnessing Technology for Safer Medicines Access and Health Equity in Nigeria,” brought together key voices from regulation, technology, and public health.

For Pharm. Rukayyat Yunusa of EHA Pharma, emphasized that technology is no longer an abstract goal but an operational necessity for the pharmaceutical sector.

“Data visibility now helps us see which medicines are moving, where restocking is needed, and how to maintain accountability — even in the most remote areas,” she explained. “Digital systems are not just improving efficiency; they’re strengthening trust and ensuring that every medicine can be traced with confidence.”

From a regulatory perspective, Osaretin Jaiyeoba, MD and Principal Consultant at Fensyl MHP Consulting Limited, highlighted the critical role of transparency and citizen engagement in safeguarding public health.

“We need systems that make it simple for both regulators and the public to report safety concerns,” she noted. “Tools like the MedSafety App are empowering Nigerians to actively participate in pharmacovigilance — creating a culture of shared responsibility for medicine safety.”

Bringing the technology lens to the discussion, Mohammad Faozy Adekan of eHealth Africa showcased how digital innovation is revolutionizing vaccine management and logistics. He spotlighted the Parsyl device, an IoT-enabled cold-chain monitoring tool that tracks temperature and integrity throughout the vaccine journey.

“With IoT sensors and the Parsyl device, we can continuously monitor vaccine temperatures in real time,” he explained. “If there’s any deviation, the system alerts us instantly — ensuring that vaccines remain potent and that data on their handling is fully transparent. It’s a game-changer for public confidence and accountability.”

The discussion underscored a unifying message: from IoT sensors protecting vaccine quality to interoperable digital records connecting urban and rural healthcare systems, technology is reshaping how Nigerians access safe, reliable, and equitable medicines.

Innovation in Action: The Launch of RxBook

A defining moment of the conference was the unveiling of RxBook, presented by Pharm. Ahmed I. Yakasai, mni, FPSN, Founder and CEO of Pharmaplus, and introduced by Abdulkareem Iyamu.

Developed by EHA Pharma in collaboration with Pharmaplus, RxBook is an AI-powered medicine information system built specifically for Nigerian pharmacists and healthcare providers. The platform delivers fast, reliable, and locally validated drug information — combining artificial intelligence with professional pharmacist review to ensure accuracy, compliance, and safety.

Accessible through an easy-to-use chat interface, RxBook empowers pharmacists to make informed decisions at the point of care, improving medication safety, knowledge sharing, and clinical efficiency across Nigeria’s pharmacy landscape.

Setting the Standard: Inside the EHA Pharma Warehouse

Following the conference, EHA Pharma hosted pharmacy and regulatory leaders for an exclusive tour of its state-of-the-art, PCN-registered warehouse in Kano — a facility that reflects its unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and compliance.

Pharm. Azubike Okwor, former President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and the African Pharmaceutical Forum, expressed admiration:

“I wasn’t sure what to expect, but stepping into this facility felt like visiting the United States. This is truly world-class and should be replicated nationwide.”

Pharm. Wasilat Giwa, Chairman of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, reinforced its importance:

“This is an excellent facility where all regulatory requirements have been met. Keep up the good work.”

Pharm. Ibrahim Babashehu Ahmed, Registrar of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, affirmed its achievement:

“This facility meets all requirements and has been fully licensed to handle and distribute quality medicines that protect public health.”

Together, their remarks underscored a shared belief — that EHA Pharma’s infrastructure and digital systems are setting a new benchmark for pharmaceutical logistics, compliance, and innovation in Nigeria.

Building the Future of Pharmacy, Together

For Paul Hogan, COO of EHA Clinics, the week’s events went beyond recognition, they reflected purpose and progress in action.

“EHA Pharma’s work demonstrates how technology and collaboration can improve efficiency, compliance, and access to care. Our focus remains on building systems that make quality healthcare accessible for every Nigerian,” he said.

From the PSN 2025 stage to the aisles of its temperature-controlled warehouse, EHA Pharma continues to prove that innovation and integrity can coexist and that every link in Nigeria’s healthcare chain can be strengthened through technology, data, and collaboration.
